#11 So many Lights

As I am sitting on my desk in my house at Sanchez Street, which is halfway on a hill, I have a beautiful overview over the city. I am looking at downtown area now, watching the towers in the city center with the Bay Bridge in the middle.

Since I arrived here, I have been taking a picture of the view every single morning. The clouds and colors of the sky keep on being different every morning. As a Dutch girl not being used to hills, I start appreceating hills for the overview look they have been giving me of the city.

Now that I look through the window, at night (wondering when that storm is kicking in) I notice that the Bay bridge has these different light shows on it every night. A friend of mine told me that the light artist that is responsible for this show, lives in a hotel room that overviews the bridge and manages the different light shows. Now I see the sea in the bridge, yesterday there were fishes. It must be holiday season or something, or that man has nothing else to do (I love it though).

When the Giants were in their winning week, all the buildings were orange. I keep on thinking about the people that have installed all those lights on those buildings. And all those smart technology people that actually can manage these light shows. It is probably San Francisco with all its technology people, being able to create something like this.

And now in this holiday season, there are so many lights hanging at people’s house too! I would love to see a graphic on the difference of light pollution before and during the holiday season, that must be such a big difference!

What you can do with lights..
