#8 Learning an instrument

ARGH! I am so jealous of all those people that actually had the patience to learn to play an instrument when they were young. I tried the violin, the piano, and bought myself a guitar to force myself to learn to play it; my impatience never got me far.

Now that I am having friends that are so well at playing the guitar, and singing, and African drumming, and violin, and more singing, and harmonica, I feel totally useless while sitting next to them, listening. Not that I do not enjoy listening and that I am so amazed by them playing, but the feeling of sharing your musicality must be even better.

Expressing yourself through music is one of the best feelings you can probably have.

I tried to challenge myself to learn the harmonica last month, but it broke down when I took it with me to Yosemite. Is it a sign that I shouldn’t even try it?

Hmmm… maybe I should just keep on listening..
