A Serious of Unfortunate Events

For the past months, all the other bloggers and I have been writing that San Francisco is a pretty amazing town, and that being an exchange student is kind of really cool.

However, even here bad things can happen. I’ve had several experiences with this and now consider myself an expert on bad luck in San Francisco. This due to a serious of unfortunate events. But the good thing about bad luck, is that it gives you something to talk and write about. So here you have it, my experiences from two weeks of bad luck.

  1. My wallet getting stolen

I was sitting at a Muni station waiting for the Muni to arrive. It did, so I got up and took one step forward to catch it. I quickly realized that I had left my wallet on the bench I was sitting on so I turner around. The wallet was gone. I had only let it out of my sight for four seconds. I lost my bank card, ID, drivers license, Muni pass, student card, Norwegian SIM card and cash. It was a bad day.

  1. Food poisoning

I ordered a chicken noodle salad at a decent looking plate. The food was good, but the texture of the chicken was a bit weird. Five hours later my body didn’t want the chicken noodles anymore. I threw up all night and had really bad stomach pain for quite some time. Not the best day.

  1. Stolen clothes

Never leave your things out of sight when you’re at a bar in San Francisco. I did this twice, and ended up loosing a couple of scarfs and one of my jackets. Lesson learned.

  1. Sinus infection

When you go outside at nighttime, always wear a scarf or some warm clothes. I was not able to, due to the fact that my scarfs got stolen. So I got the flu. And it evolved into a sinus infection. Not a good week.

Still, even having some bad luck has not changed the fact that living in San Francisco is pretty awesome.
