Even as an exchange student you can use your mail with name and address and walk in at the Zoo on SF resident Free days which usually happens the first Wednesday of every month. Just remember winter time it is closing at 4pm. The Zoo and gardens is a beautiful and well arranged park with entrance from Sloat blvd and close to Great Highway. We were lucky to walk in at a sunny and peaceful November day, and not too many people was visiting that day. They have a wide range of animals separated in to respective continents, and with varied points for viewing. There is also benches to rest on. Have a nice one, and happy Thanksgiving.
