Asian foods take me back to the start

Recently my friends drive off to Asian restaurants for dinner. Good smell of news, I hop in the car with them by chance and go enjoy the yummy. For the first ride to make this happen, it didn’t matter whether I was invited. I squashed my ass in the backseats which were already occupied by pairs of butt cheeks.

To be honest, I never expected this authentic taste of Japanese ramen in San Francisco.  A beautiful bowl of ramen with tonkotsu soup totally blew my mind. It was completely out of the blue. So was the price.

It costs as twice as the average price of a bowl of ramen in Japan and I’ve never paid this much. Indeed, some customers dress up in suits and take a lady on a date here. Nothing like this ever happens  in Japan, but apparently San Francisco views romance and gorgeousness in a bowl of ramen. Only if the price were cheaper :P

A funny experience at Chinese restaurant. I ordered eggplants with tofu at the table where we all agreed to share our plates with one another. American foods don’t typically have either of the ingredients, so I was excited to enjoy my plate as well as other menus with meat that my friends ordered from. Unfortunately, my friends did not want to exchange their plates with mine because these were vegetables. According to them, a trade between meat and vegetables is unfair in value wise lol. But what I ordered at the table was, I swear, genuinely the Chinese cuisine. And it tastes really gooood!

Japanese Curry Restaurant. I ordered chicken katsu curry. It tasted like the old style of Japanese homemade cuisine or any sort of this. Nostalgia. To be fair, unlike spicy curry in Southeast Asia, Japanese one gets a mild taste and tones more like stew. I heard that this cuisine was born during the time Japan was hugely influenced by Western cultures. That explains why it is not as spicy as Southeast Asia styles :D

I personally like curry spicier.

Korean Restaurant. Hot & spicy are here at Korean restaurant. BBQ meat and tofu soup with beef are my favorite! A great thing for me is no charge for another or more bowls of rice. Rice is not a side dish for me as a Japanese person. Trust me, we eat it with every bite of anything at table. That makes my experience at Korean restaurant very memorable with a tummy full of rice, spicy meat and tofu soup :3

Big shoutout to my friends who take me out for Asian foods. Every meal we have together reminds me of my home and it feels like we are a new family.
