Donald Trump as President/San Francisco’s Reaction

On the memorable day of 2016 presidential election, I was checking my phone quite often to see which states voted for either of the two remaining candidates. I didn’t totally expect the result on Trump. None of my friends weren’t to predict that.

I was working out at the gym. Up from the wall near the cardio machines, TVs looked down on us and cast how the voting was going. As the US map was turning red, people gathered in the area of the weighting room. Right at the moment when it was hopeless that Hilary would be elected, people started mumbling or talking to each other with anxiety and cussing words.

I went back home. My roommates and friends already opened bottles of beer and whiskey to take care of their mental wounds. I joined there too, and we were talking about the future of America and how they wanna move to other countries. In doing so, we were increasing levels of anxiety and drinking more to ease the pains.

Next days of class, most of my professors took some time to think as class about the election result. We were sharing our emotions and thoughts. My classmates were so upset and seemed to have lost their minds. It got me thinking, “wow, so emotional. it’s like the end of the world as everybody were dismayed.” My Facebook was constantly telling me about how bad this result was and would lead to hopeless situations.

So, I stayed away from SNS and those who kept complaining at some point when I was ready to accept the reality. I got back to watching anime.
