Earthquake!

I’ve never slept as well as on the night San Francisco experienced an earthquake – I woke up, ready for some oats and a great day, only to run into my roommate who asked me, clearly excited, what I had felt of the earthquake. ‘Nothing!’ I said surprised. I opened my phone and saw ten new messages of friends and family back home. ‘Are you okay?? We saw the news’. I texted them back. ‘Yes, I’m okay. Just a bit hungry’. I felt very lazy for sleeping through the whole thing. Not only was I disappointed in my survival instincts – I guess I wouldn’t survive the apocalypse for my heroic and alert personality – I had no interesting story to tell. I made some tea and sat on my bed. Bored. All of a sudden I noticed my tiny animal collection next to the bed. What I saw there, were the only marks that the earthquake left in my room.
Tiny flamengo and tiny rabbit had fallen down.
This was my story. My only story.
