13 Dec Favorite Spots #2: Fort Funston

I don’t really know if I can claim this as a favorite spot, as I’ve only been at Fort Funston once. However, that one time made me fall in love with the place. Several kilometers with trails and windswept sand dunes to explore makes this the perfect Sunday hiking destination.

If you get tired from enjoying the view (well, why would you…), you could take a look at some of the old bunkers from WW2 that is still up there. It is also fun to look at all the hang-gliders flying above you and the cute dogs running around on the sand dunes.

Another favorite spot: Ocean Beach.
