5 Tips to Help You Survive Your Finals Abroad

Final season is coming up and we all know how stressful that can do. With the hope of making this hard time a bit easier for you, here are a Canadian’s 5 tips for surviving finals.

1. Study early, study often

It’s useless to try and cram everything in the day before. You probably know this already, but your brain will retain much more information if it’s spread out over time. If you do need to review everything the day before your exam, take quick 10-20 minute power naps throughout the day, they’ll help your brain absorb the material.

2. Ask for help

Your TAs, teachers and classmates probably know a lot of things you don’t!

3. Sleep

Again, you know this, but a good night’s sleep before your exam will be much more valuable to you than those extra few hours of studying.
4. Ride the curve

This won’t apply to everyone, but a good thing to know is that a lot of courses in the USA are curved. This means that the grades will be given according to the average. Although it’s hard to predict it, it does mean that if everyone does poorly and your class is curved, you’ll likely end up with a decent letter grade by being over the average!

5. Saucey.
Whether it’s to celebrate or to forget, you’ll likely be looking for a drink at some point during finals. Saucey can help by delivering them straight to your house. Head over to www.sauceyapp.com and use the code MC8CBZ to save 10$ on your first order. But of course, you’ll need to be 21.

With this, you should be set to survive your finals at SFSU! Good luck!
