How to Deal With a Serious of Unfortunate Events

In my last blog post I wrote about how even though San Francisco is an amazing city and SF State is a great school, bad things still happens.

Luckily, there are a lot of things and people that can make your bad luck and desperate situations seem a lot better.

  1. Friends

Lucily, I have great friends around me that take care of me when life has given me lemons for the past weeks. Like my landlord Ping who gave me two of his old scarfs when he heard what happened to mine. And my roommate Louise who provided cash for me for the two weeks I did not have my own bank card. And all the hugs and sympathy I got from my fellow students when I told them about my bad luck.

  1. Insurance

When I got a sinus infection, it only took me to days to get an appointment at the student health center at SF State. A kind doctor examined me and I got medication right away. All of this for free, because I have the San Francisco State Health Insurance. It felt annoying paying a lot of money for it a couple of months ago, but now I realize that it is really nice to have insurance when you get sick.

  1. Chocolate and a Positive Attitude

But even if you have good friends and your insurance company pays for your medicine or lost items, it can still feel really annoying to loose your wallet, favorite scarf or to have a stuffed nose. Then it is important to remember that a lot of people have it way worse than you do. And feeling down will not get you anywhere. So cheer up, and face your problems with a positive attitude.

And have some chocolate, it always helps.
