Leaving San Francisco

The time has come to start thinking of all the things that are left to do before heading home. To be honest, it kind of snuck up on me. One day the departure was still months away and suddendly it’s only a few short weeks.

Looking back, I had a wonderful time. Not only the amazing people I was fortunate enough to have met but also this great city I could call home for a year are what made this experience great. Sure, there were some days that weren’t all that wonderful but they were few and interspersed throughout. Nothing out of the ordinary. But as much as I am going to miss all this, I am also looking forward to be going home again. Most of all because of the food. You would think it’s the people (and they come in a very close second!) but until you’ve left your homeland for this long you don’t realize how much you rely on certain foods. Not only on the everyday basis but also the comfort foods and so on. But enough of that, SF has its own unique cuisine which I am sure I’ll miss instead once I’m home. Well, you can’t have it both ways.

But until then I will soak up every ray of sunshine, enjoy every conversation, try to explore the unexplored parts of the city and make the most of my last few weeks here. And somehow take care of all the loose ends like selling my furniture, cancelling my bank account, and getting my deposit back. I hope all of that works out smoothly for you all as well!
