Living with roommates

Back home the prices for housing are much cheaper and thereby the majority of the students lives alone in their own apartments, which was a change I directly needed to adjust to when I got here. From living in my small cute apartment which is very cozy and I have decorated it exactly as I want, I arrived to a small room with one bed and one air mattress. Guess which one was for me? The air mattress of course. I immediately started to miss my bed at home. The wardrobe (more like a wooden stick put on the wall with hangers on it) barely fit half of my clothes and it was so cold in the apartment.

However, I have now been living here for two weeks and have adjusted to the situation. My air mattress got changed to a much better bed, we bought a bureau to put our clothes in and we found a little heater. The apartment is also in a very good location that is close to school with just a short bus ride.

I think it’s pretty obvious that I was hesitant in the beginning of how this would turn out, I wasn’t used to living with others and the house was not what I was used to from back home. But, after two weeks I can only say three words: I love it! My roommates are amazing, there is always someone to hang out with when I come home and there is always someone who wants to go and do something. I already feel that I will miss having roommates when I come home again. I have become such great friends with my roommates in such a short time period and I really feel that this is just the beginning of a great semester.
