As we all know by now, San Francisco is absolutely top-noch and diverse when it comes to food, so for my fellow Middle Eastern foodies, Helmand Palace is a MUST visit. Located on Van Ness Avenue (they also deliver), the prices are cheap and the food is delicious. I had the Kaddo (Pan-fried then bake baby pumpkin seasoned w/ sugar & served on yogurt garlic sauce, topped w/ ground beef sauce) to start and the Dwopiaza (Marinated then grilled leg of lamb sauteed w/ yellow split-peas & tossed w/ onions, lightly marinated in vinegar,s erved w/ garlic, mushrooms & pallo rice) for my main. The portions were hefty, but that didn’t stop me from leaving my plate completely clean. If you’re in the mood for dining, check out Helmand Palace, and if you don’t like Middle Eastern food, you will by the end of your meal.
