Napa & Sonoma Valley

Hey folks!

Last weekend I went to Napa and Sonoma Valley with friends to taste some wine! We booked a one day trip which included transport from SF to Napa and Sonoma with a guide, and tasting at three different wineries. For those of you who don’t know, Sonoma was actually the first region to produce California wine, then Napa followed and became home to the best and most famous local wineries.

I actually know nothing about wine (which is quite embarrassing for a French person) I’m just repeating what our guide said. He knew a lot. Thanks to him, I also know that Otis Redding’s Sitting on the dock of the bay was indeed about the Bay area of San Francisco. Wonderful guide. He took us to three wineries: Cline, Nicholson Ranch and Madonna Estate.

We had great weather, great wine and great control over our alcohol consumption. The setting was gorgeous, the vineyards and landscapes were a bit similar to Tuscany (Italy). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a nice day exploring outside SF. And who is old enough to taste wine, obviously.
