One hell of a road trip – Las Vegas Baby !

Hey guys!

Remember, I was talking about a wonderful road trip in US? Let’s keep going on.

After visiting LA and the surroundings, let’s go to the craziest city on earth: Las Vegas!

The funny thing is, I didn’t have that many expectations before going there: for me, it was only hotels and casinos, didn’t know was the big fuss was about. My mind: blown ! Las Vegas is an amazing city, and the Strip (the street where everything happens!) is a must-see if you’re in the area. The thing I actually liked the most wasn’t even the night life; the town itself is cool af! It is not one of those dreamy places in Europe, known for their history or their architecture. But it was as amazing to me, as it was the city embodiment of popular culture. Indeed, on the same street are combined some of the greatest cities in the world: New York, Venice, Paris, etc. These small “neighborhoods” recreated the atmosphere and the architecture of the places, but in a very unique, stereotyped and over-the-top way I loved. The most wonderful part to me was the fake Venice in the Venetian Hotel, made of pools and blue-painted ceilings. The wealthiest could even pay for a gondola trip on the blue-lagoon canals.

For the party people, you should try a (big) drink called “Fat Tuesday”. You can find shops selling these all over the city, and it’s kind of the specialty. It’s actually alcoholic granite, served in really tall plastic glasses. You’ll have the opportunity to toast with fellow drinkers in the street, a quick way to make friends!

Would also recommend the crazy rollercoaster at the hearth of Las Vegas, situated in a hotel shaped like a Disney castle; it was the scariest ride I’ve ever done I think, but I don’t regret it!

To be continued…

‘Talk to you next time folks!
