As part of my recent road trip over the thanksgiving break, I visited Portland, Oregon. What with the constant drizzle and cold weather, I felt very at home in Portland. For anyone planning a trip I highly recommend a trip to Voodoo Doughnuts. Any store built with glittery bricks with a giant doughnut chandelier is a must visit in my books. The doughnuts themselves are gimmicky and totally delicious, they really satisfy your hipster taste buds. After your quirky shaped doughnuts a five-minute stroll will take you to Powell’s Bookstore. Powell’s is possibly the biggest bookstore I have ever seen, and in case you think I’m exaggerating, upon entering the bookshop you will be presented with a map. America truly is the land of go big or go home.
