San Francisco: Interlude – Happy Holidays

Today I am looking forward and looking back, I have a final weekend here and then I fly back to the UK on Monday evening. I’m expecting a busy but happy flight home with everyone on their way to their families for the holidays. For the first time today, with the slightly brisk weather and all the palm trees being covered in lights as I shopped for my family’s gifts, I felt fully in the Christmas spirit. I love that as I look out the window now I can see lights in almost every window, on every balcony and a different kind of kinship in the air as the three men sitting outside on the bench in front of the coffee shop share stores, show each other pictures of their cats and people in winter hats ride the empty F line along Market St as the evening light draws in. Lots of scarves, Christmas jumpers, wishes for Happy Holidays and steaming red coffee cups. This is a nice feeling and I’m looking forward to exchanging gifts and feel the love that comes from each member of my family and friends back home that comes from this time of year.
Feeling happy and sentimental today.
