Being an exchange student means that you meet a lot of students from all over the world. And even though we spend most our time speaking English, I have tried to learn a little bit from the different languages my friends speak.

I think it is nice to know how to say hi if you were to visit your friends in their home countries.

So this is what I have learned (or at least what I think my friends told me).

French: Salut/ Bonjour

Dutch: Hoi / Hallo

Danish: Hej / Hallo

Norwegian: Hei /Hallo

Swedish: Hej /Hallo

German: Hallo / hey

Spanish: Hola

Italian: Salve /Ciao
