Visiting Berkeley

Hi everybody!

As the end of the semester approaches too quickly, I want to enjoy every moment here. That is why I went to Berkeley with other exchange students on Saturday.

We took the BART at Powell station and 30 minutes later we arrived in downtown Berkeley. We started by walking on Berkeley university campus. The campus is beautiful with a lot of green spaces and gardens. The buildings also inspired us the tradition and history of that place. We visited the main library (and learned that the campus has actually 27 libraries ! ) and we also went at the top of the clock tower. It is $3 to take the elevator to the top, but once you are there you have a wonderful view of the bay area (yes you can even see both The Bay Bridge and the Golden gate bridge). It is also another way to look at the huge campus.

As the graduation approaches, a lot of people were taking official pictures in beautiful dresses and suits with their Berkeley graduation outfits.

Then we went back to downtown, walked around Chestnuts street and ate there. It is a very pretty neighborhood. After that we decided to go to the Telegraph Avenue (one of the main avenue of Berkeley). There were a lot of shops, cafés, restaurants. We took a frozen yogourt at “Yogourtland” and ate it in one of the garden of the campus.

I have to say it was a very nice (and sunny) afternoon! Berkeley is a very pretty place to see.
