09 Dec Why You Should Go On Exchange To Montreal

This one is for the SFSU students. You’ve probably heard about how cold Canada is in the winter, but I wanted to try and convince you that it’s worth checking out!

Since I’m from Montreal (and it’s the best city in Canada!), here are 5 reasons why you should consider an exchange (or at least a trip) there:

1.

Even though French is the official language, English is commonly spoken (2 big universities are anglophones), so you’ll be able to pick up some French while not being completely lost because of the language.

The food is amazing. Poutine, maple syrup, delicious bagels, what more can you ask for?

The culture is vibrant. Whether you are into Jazz, electro, art, or even food trucks, they’ll always be a festival going on in the city! The craziest? Igloofest: an electro festival that happens each weekend outside… during the winter!

Talking about winter, if you’ve never experienced it, Montreal is the perfect place to do! It might be cold, but it’ll give you the chance to try out snowboarding, skiing, or even book a day in a winter spa!

5.

Last but not least, the legal drinking age is 18! This means the party scene is really, really good!
