Airbnb Visit

This week, I got to revisit one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve found in San Francisco: Airbnb’s office.

There was a meetup organized there by ProductTank SF. Walking in, I couldn’t help but take a picture:

After we checked-in (which took a while, because over 250 people had shown up!), we got to try the food from Airbnb’s kitchen (for free, as do their employees everyday!), and it was delicious! They had made pulled pork, with small roasted potatoes and kale, along with multiple different salads to choose from. I ate it all before I managed to take a picture… !

Once we had eaten and mingled, with access to the company’s bar, which has 48 types of beer on tap, free for everyone (!!!), the event started.

Two Google employees explained how they run Design Sprints at the company, and how they’ve used them in many different contexts, from Google Search, to their hiring page, to helping non-profits in Africa. The talk taught me a lot about design. The resources they use at Google are all available for free at https://designsprintkit.withgoogle.com/

This was my last meetup in San Francisco before the end of my semester, but it was definitely a good one!
