Bernal Heights

This last weekend, I just experienced one of my best day trips out in San Francisco so far this semester. Even though it’s mid-November, it was a very, very, warm day, so me and a group of friends decided we should definitely head into the city. First, we wanted to go to the Painted Ladies. To get there from campus, we took the muni to Church, then got off and headed to a bus stop, took the 27 bus which dropped us about a 2-minute walk away from Painted Ladies. The houses were amazing, and the park opposite the houses were such a nice spot to take photos! It was also a really nice place to sit and have a chill. There were a couple of park benches there as well which would’ve been nice if you were to take a picnic.

From the road of shops near Alamo Square, we then headed to Bernal Heights. We had to take a bus to the area of Bernal Heights, and it took around half an hour on the bus. We really did meet some characters on the bus ride. We then walked up to the area of Bernal Heights where there is an amazing view of the city! I really believe this is the best view of San Francisco I’ve seen so far! There is also a swing there, which we wanted to have photos on which had an amazing background of the bay, and just while the sun was setting which was beautiful. We got some great photos, and just hung around the area a little white, which is a really cool thing to do if you go there. There were also a lot of people with picnic blankets and drinks and food there as the area is quite large so that’s definitely a good idea of something to do up in Bernal Heights. It was also interesting to see the houses around this area as they were beautiful! I would definitely recommend Bernal Heights to anyone if you are a student studying abroad here at San Francisco, as it was so beautiful and definitely a sight that needs seeing! And, it wasn’t difficult to get to either!
