Birthday girl

This last week has been one of the most special weeks in my life. Last Wednesday October 30th was my 21st birthday, which means that I’m officially an adult in the U.S! It’s weird because in Spain I’m an adult since I’m 18, but it’s been great to stop being underage for a second time. Also, I’ve lived my first birthday outside my home, and it’s been quite an experience.

First of all, I am away from home and from all my family and friends. I though that my birthday was going to be a good but a sad day, because I would really miss everybody. But it wasn’t like that. Actually, I’ve never felt that loved in a very long time. I received a lot of cute messages from everybody, a lot of my friends uploaded a picture with me in their social media with cute messages too, and I also made Facetime with my parents and my brother. Everyone told me how much they miss me and how proud of me they are. Honestly, it was one of the best days of my life. Besides, my roommates and me end up the day with a fast-food dinner. It was really the perfect day.

In addition to that, my birthday’s weekend was also Halloween weekend! That means that a lot of parties were going on during this weekend, and I went to a couple of them. First one, the IEEC Halloween party, that I must say it was kind of disappointing at first because there weren’t many people. But then it got better. I have fun in the end. Second one, a house party organized by one classmate of mine. That one was amazing. We met a lot of people and we did some “typical American things”, like drinking in red cups and playing beer-pong. The place was awesome too, two apartments connected with each other and a really cool and decorated backyard. It was my first house party in this country, I was really excited about it. And it didn’t disappoint me at all. Now that I have lived a party like that, I can’t wait to live the next one!

In conclusion, this week has been an amazing week. I have celebrated my birthday here with my roommates, received a lot of love from home and lived the Halloween experience in this country. One of the best weeks of my life.

P.S: By the way, my costume was a unicorn.
