Even though my birthday was at the start of the semester, i still am able to look back at it as a fond memory. My birthday is the 31st of August, so luckily, i am one of the older ones. I turned 21 just as i arrived here which was and has been very convenient! We celebrated by going shopping in the city the day before my birthday, and then going out to eat at Bubba Gump restaurant at pier 39, which was then one of our first times of visiting pier 39. My friend was also visiting from home during this time and it really helped having her here during my birthday time as i was missing home and my family a lot as i usually spend it with them. In the evening, we had a party where, of course, i got a little bit too drunk… The next day, which was my actual birthday, i was very hungover so me and my friend went to visit the beach and had a chill day there as the weather was beautiful! This was my first time visiting Ocean Beach and i’m so glad that i was able to experience it with my friend from home, especially on my birthday! My suggestion is is that you really don’t need to spend all this money on a fancy birthday like going out to an expensive club etc. Sometimes, a chill birthday with good friends can be the best!
