Come December Joy?!

Happy December everybody!

I hope you’re indulging in pre-Christmas activities while trying to juggle with early final exam studying and the increasingly early hours of darkness we’re experiencing in the City.

A little advice: if you haven’t checked out the ice skating rink at Union Square or the Christmas tree right beside it or the crazy Christmas decorations Macy’s has put up — do it already! It’ll give you the Christmas spirit you’re lacking if you, like me, usually relate Christmas to heavy snow fall in early December.

Study for your finals, but puh-lease, don’t forget to enjoy life. If this is your only semester in San Francisco, you owe it to yourself to make the most out of the short remainder of time you have here. Don’t forget (after a few months of total joy, awesome experiences and language struggles — because face it: in-between the fun times we’ve also had to do some work) that exchange studies are supposed to be the complete once-in-a-lifetime slash the-best-time-of-your-life experience and YOU’VE STILL GOT TIME TO WORK ON THAT. These times are going to constitute some of the memories you’ll remember best when you’re old and bald (or wrinkled — some people have good genes and don’t lose their hair, says the medical student).

As I said, happy December, xchangerzzzzzz.
