Disneyland

People say that as you grow up, your desire to go to Disney increases as well. This is a very true situation in my case. The truth is, I’ve been to Disney World before, but my real dream was to go to Disneyland, the original Disney Theme park. Where all the magic began.

If I write about my trip, probably nobody will read this entry because it would be a very long one. But what I will say is that Disney is, indeed, magical. And this is not necessarily because everybody is dressed up and playing a character, or because there are decorations everywhere. The magic of Disney comes from their receptors itself, and their ability to let themselves daydream and imagine constantly during the day.

When you see Mickey Mouse or any other character, you certainly know that it’s not really them. Because they don’t exist. The magic comes, from letting yourself believe they do, and that they are in front of you.

When we grow up, our imagination levels drop, because we tend to focus on “grown-up” stuff, we avoid daydreaming because it stops us from being productive, and serious. That’s why our urge to going to Disney increases. Because there, you can imagine whatever and it will be true, you are allowed to act childish and have fun with the people around you even though you don’t know them. Like when you were a kid. You become best friends with the people in line or on your same ride. And for that day, you believe in magic, fairies and that everything is possible.

Disney is the happiest place on earth because it’s one of the few places where you can be yourself without anybody judging. If we were able to take everything Disney allows us to do in their parks to our daily lives, what a different world would it be. It will certainly be more complicated, but also, everyone will have a different perspective on what happiness and success really are.

Making the place you are standing on the happiest place on earth is complicated, but going to Disney may help anybody understand that believing, daydreaming, taking “stupid” chances, having creative ideas and just ordinary things, can create something special and make an impact in the world and people’s lives. Because after all, it all started with a mouse.
