Exploring

When the semester started I was very eager to explore the city with my new friends, but as the semester passed by, I discovered that exploring alone has its own benefits!

  1. You don’t have to match schedules – since you are not depending on more people, you can decide when to go on your adventure
  2. You get to be spontaneous – sometimes you just want to do something in that precise moment, going with someone else might take some planning
  3. you get to see things in a different perspective – you can observe the city more, you don’t have to talk to anybody, just observe and embrace what comes
  4. you get to know yourself – many people don’t like being alone because they are stuck with their thoughts. Exploring alone might help you understand what you like, dislike, find some answers for your life
  5. You get to meet new people – if you like to socialize, this might be fun. Talking to people around you and make friends out of nowhere. (I once made a friend in the bu because I needed a charger for my phone)
  6. You get to think out of the box – sometimes, when things don’t turn out the way you like them to, your decision paralyzed, being alone might help you resolve your problems on your own an be able to be more independent
  7. You get to spend time in things you really like – it often happened to me that when I went to museums with my friends, they got bored easily and I wasn’t able to be as much time as I wanted because I felt pressured they wanted to leave. Exploring alone might give you all the time you need!

Being alone might be frightening, or may even sound boring. But there are a lot of benefits too. Now that I have discovered it, I would like to experience it more.
