Finally got to see Tahiti thanks to SF :)

This is not a postcard. This is Moorea. This is where I have spent my spring break. This has been made possible because SF is only 8 hours away from Tahiti compared to the 23 hours I would have to go through from France.

I am actually half Tahitian from my mother. I always wanted to know this country better and to get to see my family there in real life. Indeed, I’ve only discussed with my grand mother, my uncle and my cousins through facebook. Studying in SF was the time or never to go there and I did ! Boy I don’t regret it. I’ve had the time of my life. My family welcomed me and I ate more than ever.

This is what I want to share today. If you get the chance, go and discover this amazing culture. Not quite French, not American but so rich. Tahitians are welcoming and caring people. Discover amazing dish like raw fish salad with coconut milk and chow meins so good you will never appreciate any other versions but the Tahitian one. Discover also the Ori Tahiti which is the Tahitian dance. It’ll remind you of Hula but with more rythm and speed. Don’t miss out on the city market, you can make amazing deals and get real pearl jewels for nothing while supporting local craftsmanship.

Enjoy this gorgeous view once again,
