Find out what’s happening in San Francisco

Where to eat, drink, shop, party, and get inspired by art in San Francisco? There is just too little time and too many events to choose from in this city. So when you don’t feel like going through dozens of webpages, it’s good to know someone has already chosen the best events and activities for you.

Here are four of my favorite San Francisco event sites:

1) SF Station – great event calendar

This site includes a user-friendly events calendar and a weekly entertainment guide. You can also click on the different categories like music, arts, movies and shopping and check out SF Station’s weekly event picks for the category you’re interested in.

2) SFist – tips for tonight

Everyday, “SFist tonight” gives you tips for what to do – tonight.

3) 7×7 – the best guides

Look for this week’s hottest events. On this site you will also find lists for everything: Check out “The big eat 2011”, the lists of first date ideas and places to learn an instrument in San Francisco, and if if you like that kind of entertainment: A guide to San Francisco’s strip clubs. This guide is a must: “The Big To Do: 240 Things to Do in San Francisco Before You Die”.

Hurry up, international student, you only have a few months to try them all!

4) Funcheap SF – when you’re broke

Where did all the dollars go? This page delivers what the name promises: Tips to fun and cheap (and even free) upcoming events in San Francisco.

Sometimes, even these sites are overwhelming. Then nothing beats my small, dog-eared San Francisco guidebook.

Where do you go for inspiration?
