GatorGirl Ghost Stories™: MIDTERMS

Hey SFSU’ers,

Halloween has passed, but Gator Girl always loves some good horror stories. So sit tight, get a pillow and turn off all your lights, cause I’m about to tell you one of the scariest stories known by students… MIDTERMS!! (cue dramatic music and screaming sounds)

I think you can tell by now I can be the occasional drama queen. But all jokes aside, midterms (deadlines and tests halfway through the semester) can be kinda nerve-wrecking. But fear no more, cause I got some top tips to KILL them (ha ha.)

  • Attend and pay attention to all the lectures. I know lectures can be a 3-hour-struggle, but by being a good student and making notes from the start, you’ll save a lot of time on studying!
  • Start early. Being prepared and having enough time to revise prevents stress and last-minute cramming. Because nobody actually wants to spend their night in the library-right?
  • Study with friends. Rehearse the material with a friend who also takes the course. You’ll both learn from each other, plus it is wayy more fun than locking yourself up in your room all alone.
  • Take enough study breaks. Not to the point where it becomes procrastinating obviously, but make sure you also plan some short breaks. Watch a Youtube video, scroll through Instagram, walk around campus or get a Peets- anything to get your mind off of studying for a little bit. You’ll be way more productive afterwards.
  • Move your body. Exercise is great to blow off some steam and release tension. It only has to take half an hour in your schedule, but it will give positive effects on the long terms- not only to your health, but also to your concentration levels.

  • Afterwards celebrate! It is important to reward yourself for your hard work! So go out with friends, go see a movie (A Star is Born is a must see), chill out at Dolores Park or go do some shopping. You made it, you rock and I’m proud of you!!

Enjoy this freedom while it lasts! The next monster is already sleeping underneath our beds, waiting to come out: FINALS. But hey, that’s a story for another time ;)

XOXO

GatorGirl

p.s. Happy belated Halloween!!!!
