22 Jan KONNICHIWA!! in San Francisco

I’m J-1 exchange program student from Japan. I’m going to introduce a part of my life in San Francisco. Hope it would be helpful for you. :)

About a month ago, I prepared everything beforehand in Japan. Cosmetics, soap, stationary goods, clothes and even some RICE made in Japan. If you plan to do the same way as me, that’s absolutely ridiculous! You can find all of them here. I declare, ALL OF THEM!!

First day, I found “Marugame Udon” in Stonestown that is a mall next to SFSU. Also, many people made a long line in front of the shop. I’ve never seen this even in Japan! Further, in a supermarket which is really common in SF, we could see many Asian foods including Japanese one.

One of the biggest features of this city should be that they have Japantown. Perhaps this is the reason why Japanese culture is very common in San Francisco By the way, “Cherry Blossom Festival” is going to be held in Japantown in April. Very looking forward to visiting there!

こんにちは！J-1で、サンフランシスコ州立大学に日本から来ている交換留学生です。サンフランシスコでの私の生活の一部を紹介していきます。お力になれれば幸いです。：）

約１か月前、私は前もって日本から全部を準備していました。化粧品、石鹸、筆記用具、洋服、そしてお米も持っていきました（笑）もし私と同じようにしようとしているなら、それは明らかにばかげています。ここで全部見つけられます。断言します、上述のもの全部です！

初日に、Stonestownという大学近くのモールで丸亀製麺を発見しました。さらには、お店の前に長蛇の列ができていたんです。日本でもこれほど並んでいるのは見たことありません！サンフランシスコでポピュラーなスーパーマーケットでも、日本食を含めたくさんアジアの食材を見ました。

サンフランシスコの大きな特徴の一つと言えるのは、ジャパンタウンがあることでしょう。このことが、この町で日本文化が流通している理由かもしれないですね。ところで、４月にはそのジャパンタウンで〝桜祭り″があるそうなんです。とっても楽しみ！
