Mexican babyshower

One of the funniest things I did here in San Francisco was go to a Mexican baby shower. My friend Carmen had invited me to spend the weekend with her at her childhood home in Richmond. Her mom and dad were so nice and invited me to come to a baby shower they were attending that same night.

The baby shower was held in a building adjoining a church and inside it was all decorated with pastel colors and balloon. When we got there, people were already eating and drinking and dancing. Kids were running around eating candy. Outside there was a barbeque set up and a guy was grilling soft tacos and meat and inside there was a buffet with so much food.

We drank Coronas and had a ton of sweets and everybody was dancing. There was a DJ playing really funny techno remixes and there was a table filled with presents. It was a lot of fun getting to join in on the celebrations and festivities of a culture different from my own.
