My favorite place in the world

When I first apply to be an exchange student, I chose San Francisco as my first option because everybody told me that SF is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Obviously, I believe everyone that told me so, especially my parents, who were here in 1992 Christmas. But I couldn’t imagine how beautiful it was. Not even close.

The thing that surprise me the most is that not just the iconic places of the city are gorgeous (Golden Gate Bridge and Park, Downtown, Painted Ladies…) but the ENTIRE city is. Back in my country, Spain, there are beautiful cities all around it, but there are certain parts of them that are not that beautiful, especially the residential neighborhoods and so. But here, in SF, even the most quiet and residential places are stunning. In Spain there are lots of apartment buildings that are not particularly pretty. But here, almost everyone lives in single houses with beautiful stairs and large windows, and some of them are painted with vibrant colors, which make them look even more special.

But there’s a place that I found a couple weeks after I get here that just catch my heart. Some friends that I met here recommended it, and, when I saw it, I understand why. I’m talking about Baker Beach. Maybe it’s a very typical place, but I thing it’s the most unique and beautiful place I have ever been at. The combination of the beautiful beach, the ocean, the mountains in front, the vegetation and nature and, of course, the amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge makes, for me, the perfect combination. So, when I have the opportunity of seeing one of the most beautiful sunsets of my life in the most beautiful places of the world, I just fell in love. These are some pictures I took and edited of that day. I hope you like them and, if you have the chance, go watch a sunset yourself.
