One hell of a road trip – Beautiful Death Valley

Hey guys!

Almost the end of my story on the coolest road trip! This episode: Death Valley National Park.

What do you know about the Death Valley? Before going there, I had a very precise image of what it was in my mind, very far from reality. I was convinced that it was stretches of flat and empty desert, where the only thing possible to do was driving on straight roads, along with sweltering heat.

The Death Valley is actually a splendid park, where you can see lots of different landscapes and views, travelling with your car between the several spots. Like other parks, there is a visitor center where you have the possibility to ask directions on how to spend the day and what are the best places to go to.

First, we got to Badwater Basin, which consists of salt flats. To be clearer, it is a huge white plain, where the ground is made of salt crystals. I would say this place created one of the most beautiful and surprising landscapes I’ve ever seen. Because of the reflection of the sun on the salty ground, it’s veeeery hot! Don’t forget sunglasses and sunscreen! In the park, there are a lot of other amazing places, such as the Artist’s Palette (mountains noted for a variety of rock colors: red, pink, yellow and even green and blue!), or the Zabriskie Point (pretty view on reliefs, where we watched the sun go down). We didn’t have time to do all of them; go check it out if you can!

The day I spent in the Death Valley was one of the ones I preferred during the all road trip… don’t miss it!

‘Talk to you next time folks!
