Point Reyes

In December this year, I went on a backpacking trip to Point Reyes. Though this sounds really cool it was raining cats and dogs which really ruined the trip.

On the first day, we hiked about 4 miles through the green forest of point Reyes until we reached our camping spot. Surprisingly we had running water and toilets which is extremely unusual for a backpacking trip. We unloaded our gear and went for a short day hike and when we came back it was absolutely pouring which didn’t make it easy to cook dinner. We went to bed at 6 pm that day as nobody, wanted to hang out outside and we were all really tired.

The next day we hiked out to the beach. It was absolutely beautiful hiking through constantly changing vegetation and over wind ranging hills till we reached the sand. I was raining so fiercely that we decided to leave Pt. Reyes on that day. I was carrying a 60-70-pound backpack for over 13 miles and when we finally got to the car everything hurt. I wish I could tell you readers more about Pt. Reyes but sadly the weather conditions limit my perception of the place to a bare minimum. I definitely have to come back at a different time of the year and give the place a second shot.
