Quaint tales of Yosemite echo though the land……

This weekend, I escaped the hustle and bustle of this flamboyant city to take a magical voyage through the breathtaking wonders of Yosemite National Park. After revelling in this cosmopolitan city for two months, it was time for me to immerse myself in being “at one with naure.”

Yosemite truly is a vast and boundless sanctuary of meandering beauty and spiritual tranqulity like no other! As Thoreau quotes: “An early- morning walk is a blessing for the whole day”. Yosemite is the majestic land of putting one foot in front of the other and hike. bike. hike. bike through the harmonious hiking trails paved out for you like a christmas gift. Walking through the fairy like forests with fallen leaves under foot, witnessing the spectacular cascading scenic views, it is indeed the epitome of novellish romantic escapism.

We couldn’t have chosen a better weekend weather wise. It was that blissful forecast between autumn and spring. By 8am morning, we felt that crisp chill caress our cheeks and by 10.30am the lemon juiced sun was already playing a game of hide and seek amongst the trees, bathing us in cheerful warmth. The skies were exquisite, flawless and blue.

One of our many hiking trails included rock climbing and hiking up to a waterfall. A translucent bridal veil of mist sprayed against us as we soared to the sky. Once we had conquered the top like champions, we were congratulated in a triumphant trophy: a stunning rainbow arching over the falls.

Later on, we even had a quaint encounter with two deers. Two charming docile bambis sharing an apple between them, oblivious to all their admirers taking coveted snap shots of Yosemite’s very own A list celebrities!

By 6pm, we reached Glacier Point, one of the highest scenic viewpoints, where that crisp chill whispered in the air again and the ground was blanketed in white snow. We had made it just in time to watch sunset. The skyline serenely oozed in warm tinged hues of golden orange, melting into pink, into lavender violet. We watched in awe, warming our selves with cups of red wine and sharing blissful laughter about the talking ranger with his comical southern accent!

The perfect day was closed with star gazing up into the ebony ink of night, musing about astronomy.

As you can detect, my Yosemite experience translates into the most magical weekend ever!!…….

This leaves me to close this blog with a stanza of four lines:

Yosemite, you stole my heart.

I didn’t want to depart.

Alas, I shall return,

until then, my heart shall yearn.

I went to Yosemite this weekend, and I agree with everything you say!

Also, if someone wonders where the hot guys in California are hiding, I now know the answer: In the mountains of Yosemite.
