Research Lab

When I arrived at San Francisco State I knew what my goals were. I wanted to learn as much as I could from those subjects that my school didn’t offer back home. I wanted to learn things I couldn’t learn back home.

I am a psychology student and back in Mexico, we learn theory in a very conservative way. We study the basics like Freud and Lacan, etc. Yet, in the US is all about research. At first, it was kind of complicated for me to understand everything, but with time, I started to love research.

I searched for Research Labs to join on campus, and luckily I was able to participate in the RADLab. This lab has the objective to study how emotions influence people’s decisions in day to day life and try to explain it. Lab meetings are always very interesting and make me learn and wonder more about how the brain works.

I hope I can do something like this back in Mexico to continue expanding my knowledge and wonderings about the mind. For now, I am truly grateful for being able to attend and help in the experiments held in the Lab, it was an honor and a great learning experience.
