Revision tips

So, I hope finals are going well. Things are probably pretty stressful right now but I thought I’d give you an idea of the revision habits I have.

  • Find a good spot. If you like silence, the fourth-floor reading room is one of my favorite places. You are allowed food, but make sure it isn’t noisy or smelly because this can be really distracting (if you bring Subway in, you have no empathy). Also, if you’re using your laptop a lot, find a plug then you can’t use the excuse that your laptop has died.
  • Take breaks. There is no point staring at something for hours on end. Pop to a coffee shop on campus and refresh your mind.
  • Be prepared. Don’t revise the night before a final and expect it to all go in. It just won’t and if it does you are very lucky. Bring all the appropriate things you need. Books, pens, jotters, snacks. You will end up needing them, so plan ahead!
  • Don’t recommend revising with friends (all the time, anyway). You will probably just end up talking all afternoon.
