Ring of fire

I have been to a couple of bonfires in San Francisco. It is a good place to sit around and get to know new people, tell stories or maybe even roasts some delicious s’mores. Bonfires are a lot of fun and it is nice to take some time out of the busy city life to relax with new and old friends.

Things I have found out about bonfires:

There are few public places that you can legally make a bonfire and you are supposed to use a fire pit. Bonfires are very popular so you cannot be too late to the beach or other area for making bonfires.

Be aware your clothes will smell like the bonfire for a long time, even after airing out your clothes and washing them several times.

Bring food, snacks and drinks and know that about 40% of your company did not and are somehow now both very hungry and extremely thirsty.

Be sure, if you can, to not sit downwind or else your experience will be colored by having a constant surge of black smoke in your eyes. And of course, do not sit so close that you catch on fire, but I guess you knew that already.
