I found the perfect old school cliché American experience for you to try. Roller Disco! Every Friday and Saturday night you can go to the Church on 8 Wheels in Lower Haight (yes it is in an actual Church). It is the real deal, four wheels on each foot, lights, 70s music, people with crazy outfits and wigs… If you’re lucky, you’ll see dope performances by the coolest grandpas.

If you want to request a song you can definitely do it, though I recommend asking early on because there are a lot of requests. I would also advise against Bieber or One Direction for obvious reasons (don’t kill the vibe kids). If you’re not used to 4 wheels I’m sure you’ll do fine. You shouldn’t worry about it too much, although there are a few professionals most people are just here for fun.

Fees are 10$ for entry and 5$ for skates, which is pretty reasonable. You can enjoy the “skate floor” from 7pm to about 11pm. You can also check your stuff if you want to, though it is safe enough for you to just put it on the benches. We’ve had a great time there, don’t miss out!
