Sunflowers in my hair!

So I now enter my 5th week studying here at SF State and what can I say! It is proving an EPIC experience to say the least! It is a whole other world away from London that’s for sure!…

I take a kodak snapshot of the campus, and WOW it really is the quintessence of the “American School in the Movies!” Cameras. Lights. and we are rolling.. Action!: Okay so we have the huge, vast and meandering grounds, the shaggy haired skater-dudes whizzing by, clusters of pretty people languidly sunbathing on the green green grass, there are the flamboyantly dressed art students sitting on the floor in the yoga position whilst sketching in charcoal, studious types recline on benches click click clicking away on their laptops whilst sipping “XXX grande” coffees, countless groups of giggling girls screeching in unison “OH MY GOD! ARE YOU LIKE TOTALLY KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW??!!” You get the picture. right?

Well don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining! As a Literature and Creative Writing major, I find myself in the midst of this, blissfully intrigued and I happily sit on a bench scribbling down these insightful musings as inspiration for my poetry whilst devouring a fat arse bagel from cafe 101. (FYI: the yummiest bagel is bagel H). I usually then find myself distracted by the buttery perfume of popcorn wafting over from the Farmers Market! Yes you heard that correctly! A Farmers market here on campus! How delightful! This is a humble hub where I love to have a ponder around and then dig into my purse and spend my dissapearing golden dollars on SUNFLOWERS, the volumptuous, vivacious cheerful petalled creatures that Van Gough would be proud of!….As the saying goes here, a girl can’t possibly live in the Sunset district without a vase of sunflowers adorning her room!
