The One about American vs. European differences

I got to spend some time with my favorite American family in Arizona. It is my former teacher from high school back in the Czech Republic and she is one of the nicest person in the world. I could also come to class with her and I gave presentation to Student Council students. While we were talking, several things came to my mind – there are a lot of differences in the school education and other things.

For example, here the teachers are ALWAYS on time for class. They can be fired for breaking the rules or can be short of paycheck for it. During my studies, teachers were usually on time, but sometimes 10-15 minutes didn’t play a big role. I also found out that sex and alcohol is a big taboo. It is not usual that there are a bed-parts in the movies. Fifty Shades of Grey was an exceptional movie because there was A LOT of intimacy.

And the alcohol? I think people here are not used to it and they don’t take it as a part of their lives and then when they turn 21 and can drink, they just go WILD and CRAZY. We go wild and crazy too, but maybe we are more used to it from the younger age. But being back in the high school made me think of my funny times of my young life… Now I feel pretty old :D

It wouldn’t be bad come back to the kindergarten sometimes…
