Trip to desolation wilderness #2

The second day of our trip we hiked for around 10 miles and ended up at a small lake called Dik’s lake. Here we built up our camp and went for a short hike up to Dik’s pass. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the point of elevation where we also passed small batches of snow. After returning to our camp we spent the day swimming in Dik’s lake and enjoying nature. In the evening we cooked curry together and watched the stars in the sky away from the cities and their light pollution. The spot we camped that night was honestly one of the coolest places I have ever stayed.

On the final day of our backpacking trip, I woke up a 6:45 to hike a small mountain close by and watch as the sun-filled the valley with light. It was extremely cold outside and therefore I was very happy when the sun rays started touching my skin. We built our camp together and headed out of the wilderness. The final day we hiked around 10 miles similar to the 2 days prior and reached our car at around noon. Over the course of 3 days, we hiked around 30 miles and saw some spectacular views around the desolation wilderness. I would recommend doing this trip to anyone who is into nature and hiking.
It’s worth mentioning, that if you are interested in doing this trip yourself you are required to have a permit on you that allows you to camp in the area. It only costs around 30 dollars for up to 12 people which is honestly almost nothing.
