UCSB

One of my weekends on exchange I spent down in Santa Barbara. This was a great trip for surfers and people that like to party. The UCSB is a campus with beautiful students, palm trees beaches, and if I were to study anywhere other than in san Francisco this would be the place.
Every evening students from all different ethnicities and backgrounds come together and huddle on the beaches drinking and having fun. Though this is also a possibility in SF it gets cold very fast here while from my experience this is not the case there.

Other than the wonderful nature and people of Santa Barbara you also have the possibility to go surfing. When I was there were great waves and we stayed at the beach all day enjoying the sun and the vibes. Though it was really warm on the beach I decently recommend bring a neoprene suit otherwise you’ll get cold very fast and don’t get your hopes up for empty beaches, there are plenty of students out on the water that want to get the waves as well, there is very strong competition.

One day we took, and ocean kayak out and paddled 5 miles till we reached and abandoned beach. This was something I had never done before, and it was really fun paddling through the waves as the rocked you up and down.
