19 Feb What to do around the Bay Area?

If you’re looking for a nice one-day trip around the bay area, I strongly advise going to Muir Wood! It’s north of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s totally possible to go there even if you don’t have a car! Just take a bus to the Golden Gate Bridge and then to Sausalito. Over there you can grab a shuttle (only $3 but it needs to be booked in advance) that will take you straight into the park. From there, everything is on foot so be sure to wear good shoes.

Muir Woods is absolutely stunning with magnificent Redwoods. You will not regret it! There are several trails you can take. My favorite: the Creek and Lost Trail. Make sure to go all the way to the top to the Panoramic trail to have a full view of the forest!
