Yosemite

This past long weekend I took a trip to Yosemite with some of the IEEC members. We got together at the campus and drove all the way to Yosemite. The only stop we made was to eat in a fast-food restaurant.

When we got there we had some trouble finding a campsite, but after some minutes we finally did! We set the tents up and started a fire to warm us up (it was a really cold weekend). We ate dinner together and got to know each other. It was a pretty chill night.

The next day we got up, ate some breakfast and got ready for the adventure. We hiked all the way to the top of Yosemite’s waterfalls. It was an incredible view! The hike lasted for about 6-7 hours.

After that, we went back to the campsite. We were supposed to go hiking on a night tour as-well but we were all very tired to go. We decided that staying and playing some games should be better and so we did. That day everyone went to sleep relatively early, we were really tired.

At last, the next day we went cite seeing the most iconic parts of Yosemite that could be reached by car. After that, we headed back home.

It was a very nice experience, I personally went without knowing anyone and had a great time, I made new friends and experienced hiking in a very different unique way.

Yosemite made me connect not only with the people around me, but it helped me to reconnect with nature as well. I have honestly become one of my favorite places. If you haven’t gone there, you should definitely go. It is a unique experience that you can’t lose.
