How to spend a day in SF

If you are running out of ideas how to spend your day in SF, maybe the following blog will be an inspiration to you.

It was a sunny Sunday in San Francisco, when my friend picked me up early in the morning. We started our day with cycling from my house in Nob Hill down to Embarcadero. At our first and short stop at the Coit-Tower we enjoyed the first breathtaking view above San Francisco, when the sun was rising and the city started to wake up slowly. Even if you don’t want to spend $6 on entrance you can enjoy the 360-degrees-view from the bottom of the tower. Then we continued cycling down to Embarcadero where we passed the popular farmer’s market. I suggest you to take a short break and grab one of these organic, fresh smoothies as a first breakfast-snack. Then we cycled to the the neighborhood called Dogpatch for the traditional American breakfast at the cafe “Just For You” – cozy, delicious food and always busy, so be prepared to wait in the line. But it is with it, I promise! Dogpatch, half industrial and half residential is one of the newest areas in the city and one of my favorite districts. When you want to see innovative buildings and industrial halls which were transformed into offices and houses, Dogpatch is the right place to see it. After having American pancakes we continued on cycling through Potrero Hill, which is very similar to Dogpatch and also one of my favorite districts, to our next destination – Bernal Heights. In my opinion the Park of Bernal Heights offers one of the best views above San Francisco. From the top of the park you see the Golden Gate, the Twin Peaks and almost the airport of San Francisco. It is definitely a place for watching the sunset! Not only the view is inspiring, also the atmosphere in Bernal Heights is very relaxing. This more residential area is known for its peacefulness and uniqueness. I could spent the entire day on the top of the hill by reading a book and enjoying the view on San Francisco’s skyline.

As Bernal Height lies to south of the Mission district, it is moths it to cycle down to my favorite place for lunch or dinner at the Valencia street. A great area which is always busy and offers a wide range of cuisine for affordable prices. Well, that is the perfect place for letting the day end with your friends.

I hope I could give you new ideas what to see in San Francisco.

Enjoy your day!

Anja
